Akoostix is supporting an NSERC ENGAGE grant with the Royal Military College of Canada to find robust solutions for underwater multi-target tracking using multistatics. DRDC Atlantic will also support this effort by providing RMC with appropriate data. Potential solutions will be evaluated in STAR and Adeos.
Software Tools for Analysis and Research Support – Contract Award
A diverse team of experts, led by Akoostix, was selected by Canada to provide support to Defence Research and Development Canada – Atlantic’s Software Tools for Analysis and Research (STAR). The potential total value is $750,000 over three years. Work under this standing offer will involve specialized sonar software development, data analysis and sea trial support for the wide variety of applications developed using the STAR software suite.
STAR is used primarily for analysis and refinement of prototype algorithms and trials data analysis, but also contributes a wealth of capability to all levels of our R&D process in the form of software libraries.
Spring Update – 2009
Akoostix announced a number of significant achievements as it moved into its fourth year of business. The business is strong and growing for the third year in a row, with excellent prospects for the future. (more…)
STAR Localization Libraries – Contract Award
Akoostix Inc. announced today that it has won a competitive bid for support to the STAR Localization Libraries. These libraries are being developed to transfer multi-sensor data fusion and target localization capability from DRDC’s algorithm prototype STAR (Software Tools for Analysis and Research) to C++ libraries that can be integrated into system prototypes. The algorithms are used to generate a much simpler presentation of detection information from multiple sensors that includes any or all of bearing, time difference of arrival and/or multistatic ellipse features. These features are fused to reveal multiple targets, each represented by an area of probability ellipse. The ellipse takes into account multiple system errors to provide a realistic view of target data.
